Program:
Rare Earth Mineral Development with Ross Bhappu, Partner with Resource Capital Funds and Chairman of the Board, Molycorp, Inc.

Sponsor:
Mountain States R&D International

Program:
The Mountain Pass Mine has over 50 years of operating history but was shut down in 2002 when rare earth prices collapsed due to flooding of the market by low cost Chinese production.  In 2008, a consortium led by Resource Capital Funds purchased the mine and has since taken Molycorp public on the New York Stock Exchange. The company is currently modernizing the mine and has initiated a “Mine-to-Magnets” strategy that will make Mountain Pass one of the lowest cost rare earth mines in the world. This presentation will provide a summary of Molycorp and our plans to become a leader once again in the rare earth space.

About the Speaker: Ross Bhappu holds a PhD from the Colorado School of Mines and BS and MS degrees in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Arizona. Prior to joining Resource Capital Funds in 2011, he was the president of a development stage copper company, director of business development at Newmont mining Corporation, and served in various technical and financial roles with Cyprus Minerals Company. He currently serves on several Board of Directors, including Chairman of Molycorp, Inc.
